The office setting was designed specifically
with our patients in mind. This is one more way that
we strive to provide medical care in line with our motto
"the way women should be treated". Our patients
find the surroundings to be more like their living room
than a traditional "waiting room". Our reception
area contains a fully stocked refrigerator with a wide
selection of beverages.
State of the art carbon air filtration
units are strategically placed throughout the office.
Some of our patients are sensitive to various chemicals,
pollutants or other environmental allergens. These filters
remove these factors from the air within our office.
During your stay at VitalCare the air you are breathing
is probably the cleanest air your body has enjoyed in
a very long time!
Recovery from a chronic illness such
as endometriosis requires healing of the mind and spirit
in addition to the physical body. With this phiolosphy
in mind we worked with a Feng Shui consultant prior
to beginning construction of our office. She was instrumental
in the look and feel of the office from the design and
flow of the office space to the pictures on the walls
and the fountain in the reception area. We are glad
to bring you cutting edge western medical science embodied
in an enviornment of positive energy.

Menlo
Park Surgical Hospital

Most of Dr. Cook’s Surgery is currently performed
at the Menlo Park Surgical Hospital (MPSH).
The facility provides surgeons with the most advanced
medical technology available. Patient suites offer the
comfort and amenities of a small luxury hotel at a cost
substantially less than traditional hospitalization.
The following is an article form 1994 about Menlo Park
Surgical Hospital which was previously known as The
Recovery Inn of Menlo Park.
"Menlo Park's Recovery Inn caters
to patient comfort. With its early California-style
decor, spacious front lobby, walls covered with artwork
and suites with names like Shasta, Sequoia and Plumas,
it feels like a luxury hotel.
Actually, it's the Recovery Inn of
Menlo Park, located on Willow Road between Middlefield
Road and U.S. Highway 101, and has been in business
since December 1992. The Recovery Inn is not a bed and
breakfast inn for those trying to escape the rat race.
It's actually licensed as an acute care hospital with
200 doctors on its medical staff.
If there's one word patients use to
describe the Recovery Inn, it's quiet. With only 16
beds in the hospital, each in a private suite (TV and
VCR, refrigerator, private shower, window views, pull-out
couch, and the majority with double beds) patients not
only can get a good night's rest from surgery, but also
receive the careful attention of the nursing staff,
with a ratio of one nurse to every three or four patients.
Also available is an on-site chef,
who in addition to offering daily menu changes will
cater to the personal preferences of the patient. The
Recovery Inn is centered around five surgical specialties:
sports medicine; gynecology; general surgery; ear, nose
and throat; and both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic
surgery. Surgery is performed on the premises.
"One of the ways we differ from
traditional hospitals is our philosophy of the patient--we
go out of the way to be patient-oriented," said
Ann Klein, Executive Director of the Recovery Inn. "Patients
are able to retain a sense of independence and control,
are given an opportunity to respond to their care,"
said Klein. Liberal visitation hours also contribute
to greater patient freedom. Visitors may stay till 9
p.m., and family members may stay overnight on a pull-out
bed available in each room.
Not only do patients feel secure having
a close family member nearby but relatives can learn
first-hand how to care for the patient after they leave
the hospital."
